Hey, I'm Kylie!
Mom, wife, therapist
I’m an introvert, with anxiety, hell-bent on finding as many moments of calm and joy as I can on this chaotic Earth. I’m often my own worst critic, and can come up with the wildest catastrophes in my head, but I've come a long way with being able to believe in my strength and resilience. Through my own therapy, I've learned how to accept what is, and actively cope with it the best I can. I'm passionate about helping people who feel overwhelmed learn how to assert themselves, live in the moment, and finally feel good enough. I love reflecting my understanding until people say YES! or Exactly! in relief when I've been able to REALLY understand them. It's an honor to know that my clients see me as an extended support system. They know I have their back. The bravery of people with anxiety inspires me. I admire the courage and self-determination it takes to engage in life when your internal systems fight against you.
Beginning therapy probably seems overwhelming when you already have so much going on and are drained as it is.
Therapy does take effort upfront, but it's like a lot of things with anxiety, once you face it, you usually feel a lot better! Most people end up looking forward to our time and are excited to share how the support is helping them live a life they feel good about.
Being a therapist is what I'm meant to do.
It's how I make sense of the tragic circumstances I have witnessed due to mental illness, throughout my life. I began therapy as a teen, to cope with my own anxiety and my Mom's severe Depression. Since then, I’ve faced my greatest fears: miscarriage, loss of Dad to Cancer, and loss of Mom to suicide. Therapy and an understanding of psychology have helped me remain strong no matter what. Helping others gain the confidence to handle whatever comes their way is an incredible service I’m proud to offer.
I've been uniquely equipped with an understanding of the pain mental health issues cause, along with the privilege of exposure to therapy from a young age, and excellent educational opportunities. I’ll use my experience, and knowledge, to empower you.
One of the great benefits of working with me is that I own my practice. I’m motivated for you to be satisfied because your personal success directly impacts my professional success. I bring a nurturing, caring, warmth to the therapeutic process, along with an understanding of how our minds work. I'm going to ask you to spill your guts while I listen intently. As I learn how you perceive the world, I can teach you strategies to challenge unhelpful beliefs and coping skills to manage your emotions.
